It was only a few weeks ago that I was thinking to myself that I needed a new comb and brush for my beard.
Then as if by chance, the guys at Regincós got in contact and sent me some of their lovely products to try. How could I refuse?!
Who are Regincós?
Before I let you know what I thought of their brushes and combs, here is a little background on the company.
They are a family run business that was founded over 50 years ago by Ramon Regincós. Their brushes and combs are hand made using natural ingredients and are used by many celebrity stylists around the world.
These days the business is ran by Ramon’s sons, Ramón, Salvador and Marc who are continuing their father’s tradition of producing premium quality products for both the domestic and international markets.
Now onto the important part. My first impressions upon opening the box was that the products all looked high quality. It was clear that these weren’t just ordinary combs that you can buy in your local supermarket.
Beard and moustache comb
As I have discussed in a previous blog post, it is vital that you brush and/or comb your beard regularly throughout the day. Not only does it help keep your beard neat and tidy, it also helps reduce irritation during the dreaded itchy phase.
When you’re out and about during the day, this comb is perfect. Its small size and weight means that you can just keep it in your pocket and use it when required. You almost forget that it’s there!
Over the years I have had a bit of an indifferent relationship with combs. To be honest, I thought they were just for old people!
But after growing a beard, I have seen them in a new light. For a start, I believe that they are more effective than brushes at distributing beard oil, especially with shorter beards.
The Regincós combs are perfect for this. Unlike other beard combs that I have tried, it just seems to glide through my beard hair. This is a good sign that most of, if not all the hair is being properly coated with beard oil.
Let’s face it. There is nothing worse than having a comb that just pulls on your hair. Very painful indeed!
This is my favourite out of the three products.
Why? Simply put, I have seen the biggest difference in my beard since using it. It feels softer to touch and any skin flakiness that I did have has disappeared.
The number one reason for this I believe is the use of boar bristled hairs. Boar bristled brushes have long been popular with beard growers and I can now see why! In fact, they offer quite a few surprising benefits which go further than simply just styling your beard.
As their website states, this brush works best with short to medium length beards. However, I have a fairly long beard and I feel that it still does an excellent job.
